The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit and Crime Stoppers is trying to identify a male suspect involved in a theft from a retail store along the 2000 block of Bank Street. The male was confronted by the LPO (Loss Prevention Officer) in the store. A struggle ensued between both, and the male deployed pepper spray into the eyes of the LPO. He then left on foot going Northbound on Bank Street.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5’7” – 5’10” (170cm – 178cm), medium build, goatee. At the time of the incident, he was dressed in a fluorescent orange work jacket, black pants, a Toronto Blue Jays tuque and carried a dark-coloured backpack (view picture.)
The LPO received medical treatment at the scene, and did not suffer any lasting injuries.
