Suspect sought in assault on a taxi driver

The Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect for assaulting a taxi driver and failing to pay the fare.

On the 12th of September 2018, at approximately 9:00pm, a taxi driver picked up the suspect at a restaurant on Clyde Rd and drove him to the Woodroffe Ave area. The suspect assaulted the taxi driver and fled without paying his fare. The victim had to be brought to the hospital and treated for injuries sustained in the assault. The suspect is described as a male approximately 6 feet tall wearing an orange construction vest.
